One Splendid Striped Shirt, Two Ways

Outfit Two
Striped top: Nordstrom  |  White pencil skirt: SexyModest Boutique (similar here and here)  |  White bubble necklace: eBay (identical here)  |  Black wedge heels: Target (similar here)  |  Watch: Kate Spade

I rarely spend more than $10 on a tee (thank you, Target) but I made an exception for this striped beauty. Not much of an exception, mind you, because it was a part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and therefore only cost $15.90. I see now, the error of my ways. I seriously am in love with this shirt. As I am typing this, I am wrestling with myself over whether I should order another one. It's just so darn comfy. It's a slightly loose fit too, and I ordered mine a size up to make it extra loose. Given my instant infatuation with this item, I naturally wanted to wear it twice within the first three days of owning it. And that, my friends, is how this post was born. I though to myself, "Hey, maybe it would be cool to show different ways to wear this top. Yep, that's a sufficient excuse to wear it again immediately."

Eve has been developing quite the fashion sense of her own. She insists on dressing herself (often multiple times a day.) To attend the birthday party of my sister's fiancee, Eve insisted on wearing a fairy costume dress, a tiara, Cinderella socks, and sandals. Yep, socks with sandals. It was quite the daring fashion statement. I'm so used to outfits like these, that I then took her to a store and didn't even think about the way she was dressed until someone in the store pointed it out. It was a cashier who said "I wish I could just wear a costume whenever I feel like it." You know what, I kind of would too. So despite my fashion sensitivities, I will keep allowing my child to walk around wearing whatever she likes. She has a limited window of time before people will start to think she is crazy. She should enjoy it.

Deal of the Day
If you're one of the unlucky ones who missed out on the J.Crew herringbone vest, your luck has changed for the better. It's back in stock in all sizes and it's $10 off! Falls just around the corner so now would be a great time to get your hands on one of these pretty things!

  3. A basic striped shirt is such a smart investment, huh? Of the two looks, I am leaning more towards the second just because I am totally into feminine looks :) You rocked both though!
