Ode to the Plaid Blanket Scarf

If you've been a long-time reader, then you may be familiar with my "impressive" poetic abilities. Particularly when the topic is fashion related. As I wore the blanket scarf above and wondered if it would be it's last outing of the season, I decided to honor the bittersweet moment with this piece of verse:

You've kept me warm like nothing other;
You've even worked as a nursing cover.
Whenever I've worn you as a cardigan,
You've always had my back again.
And when I've felt the need for plaid,
Wearing you has made me glad.
Your absence will be surely felt;
I'll miss wearing you with a belt.
But as the cold months come to a close,
Without you I'll finally see my toes.

See? I'm a woman of great talent. Fashion poetry is seriously underrated.

And if this sarcasm went over your head (or you just like funny videos), here's a little video to help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBztjzDr0fM

  3. You're seriously so adorable! How clever is that little poem? Packing away my blanket scarves is always bittersweet. In fact, we went to the movies on Sunday and happened to have freakishly warm weather. I draped my blanket scarf around me and pulled it off to use as a blanket during the movie. Sure Joshua gets a little embarrassed, but it makes me feel "at home." I might just keep one in my care from now on. (;

    1. Aww, shucks. You're making me blush :) One of the many reasons that blanket scarves are awesome is that they work as blankets! There is absolutely no shame in using one as such! Especially in movie theaters which are always freezing!
