Three Easy Hairstyles for Valentine's Day

So my hair miraculously grew back over night! Just kidding, I filmed this tutorial the day before I got my hair cut, knowing that it would be it's last hurrah. I filmed three really simple but cute hairstyles that would be perfect for Valentine's Day!

Here are some written instructions in case you are allergic to videos, or in case the video is a little unclear:

Hairstyle #1: half pony with a bow
1. Curl your hair with a 1" curling wand
2. Gently brush out your curls
3. Tease the hair on the top of your head
4. Pull the top half of your hair into a pony tail
5. Add a cute bow! You can buy the one from the video here

Hairstyle #2: side braid
1. Curl your hair with a 1" curling wand
2. Gently brush out your curls
3. French braid one side of your head horizontally toward the back of your head
4. Pin the braid at the back of your head
5. Pull your hair in front of your opposite shoulder

Hairstyle #3: sock bun with hair bow
1. Put your hair in a high pony tail
2. Leaving a small section at the bottom of your ponytail out, place your hair in a bun donut or a rolled up sock (with the toes cut out) and roll your hair down to form a sock bun
3. Pin in place
4. Using the hair you left out of the bun, split it in half. Loop one half to form half of the bow and pin in place. Repeat with other half.
5. Using the hair hanging down from your loops, roll it up and pin it in place to form the middle of your bow.
Maybe you should just watch the video for that one. I lack sufficient descriptive ability to write about how to form the hair bow haha.

  1. I love that side braid! I've been on a huge kick lately, so this is fantastic.

  2. So, I have never been able to tease my hair. That sounds so lame, right? haha It always looks more rat nest. I can however, tackle the sock bun with a bow style. Down and sock bun are about the only two styles I have mastered. (;

    1. I'm a bit of a teasing addict! You don't really even need to though because it looks like it already has a ton of body! Mine is so straight that it needs some extra volume!

  3. I can't believe how easy you make these look haha. Honestly, hair is one of my biggest challenges--I just can't get the hang of it! I LOVE the bun you did here.

    1. Thanks, Alecz! I used to have a lot of days where I attempted to style my hair and ended up undoing it before leaving the house! Practice and a lot of youtube videos have helped!

  5. Since I have curly hair I've never teased it before, but with some adaptions, I'm going to try these styles this weekend!
